‘The X Factor’ USA: Simon Cowell further endorses Alex & Sierra album
Simon Cowell has been a little bit quieter than usual as of late, and for good reason. After filming “Britain’s Got Talent” auditions and dealing with his transition away from “The X Factor” USA, he has spent most of his time as of late in New York, where his newborn son Eric and the baby’s mother Lauren Silverman are located.
While this may be eating up a big chunk of his time right now, it is not keeping him from sending out a few blasts here and there about some of his artists. He recently and rather feverishly congratulated One Direction of their BRIT Awards victories, and he did just send another vote of confidence to Alex & Sierra on the progress of their debut album:
“Am listening to the Alex and Sierra demos for their upcoming album. Fantastic. It’s seriously good. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
These little updates may seem inconsequential to some, but the reason that we find them to be fairly valuable is pretty simple: They prove that there is still plenty of support for the duo despite the cancellation of the U.S. show, which is something that we were concerned about. After all, it would be easy to forget about the last act to win the show, but the commitment proves that he believes in the quality of the music.
The first Alex & Sierra album should be out a little later this year, though no concrete details are available yet. Meanwhile, the rest of Simon’s “X Factor” alum are very busy. One Direction is still celebrating, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony are on tour, and Olly Murs has been rumored to be returning to the UK show as a judge.
