ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3 spoilers: Barry Sloane’s new pilot could create questions

Is the cast of “Revenge” going to be getting smaller very soon? It’s possible…

If you recall, we posted a story recently regarding whether or not Barry Sloane was going to stay aboard the ABC show in the long-term, as he received permission to go out and test the market. He does still have a contract option for a fourth season, so even if he gets a gig elsewhere, it’s still possible that he could still recur on the show as the Aiden Mathis character. All of this depends on what the show decides to present to us the rest of this season for the character, and where he could end up going. (Right now, his love interest in Emily Thorne is in pretty dire straits.)

For now, let’s at least tell you a little bit about the show that he could be joining. The project is another ABC show (which could make it easier to bounce between the two) and it is entitled “The Visitors.” What’s the theme here? Aliens! Specifically, aliens who come to earth to try to use its own resources as a means to destroy the human race. His character is named Wes, who was a FBI agent, and now works for the Special Projects Division of the Defense Department. His duties? Basically doing things that the rest of the world is not ready to know about just yet.

This is still a pilot, so before you really start to have any serious discussions about whether or not Sloane is moving on, remember that the show has not even been picked up to series yet.
