2014 BRIT Awards: Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Beyonce, more perform
Tonight, the BRIT Awards are airing on ITV in the UK, and it’s giving fans an opportunity to see some of the best of what the music scene has to offer. This is also a show that has a huge international following, given that many of the performers tonight are some with American roots … and you will see some of that in the article below, which focuses on some of the highlights from the show.
Katy Perry, “Dark Horse” – Still, this is one of our favorite songs out of Katy’s entire catalog. It just has such a different sound than the majority of the stuff out there. Was this a little bit of a teaser to her music video? It’s possible, since it had that same sort of Egyptian theme to it. Also, we’re assuming that Juicy J wasn’t available like he was for the Grammys.
Bruno Mars, “Treasure” – You have probably seen this sort of performance before, but this one was just as fun as always. Bruno just has that sort of natural spark to make almost any performance memorable, and make other performers jealous in the process.
Beyonce, “XO” – Someone was probably doing cartwheels behind the scenes at the BRIT Awards the moment that they got Beyonce to appear on the show, even if she did perform a song that can hardly be considered one of her more-popular hits. Instead, this is a song that is one of the lesser-known ones. Then again, of course she wanted to do something that would promote her current album.
