‘Criminal Minds’ season 9, episode 15 preview: Garcia’s love crisis
Did Garcia on “Criminal Minds” have herself the best possible Valentine’s Day? It definitely doesn’t seem like it, based on some of the new information that has been made available to us in the sneak peek video below. Instead, she tells Morgan about a crisis that she is suffering from, where it appears as though she is struggling to have her man actually be able to step up and … well, be a man in some situations.
Unfortunately for her, there’s a big problem with what she wants as she hasn’t actually told him yet. This video almost feels like Morgan is more of the love doctor, offering up whatever sort of advice that he can in order to get her to realize the right way to go about things.
Given the sort of drama that we have been through watching the past two episodes of this show, we’re all for a story that tries a little bit to bring out some of the nicer parts of the characters and their story. The last thing that we want to do is either see them be miserable, or be permanently traumatized by what they went through. While we are very much well aware that Garcia was not one of the principal people impacted in the 200th episode, she did still have a particular part to play in handling everything … just as she has a part to play in every episode.

I have zero interest in the romantic relationships of any of the characters of this show. I wish the writers would focus more on the former focus of the show, which was ‘the’ thing that made it differnt than the other ones. More and more Criminal Minds is including romantic and ‘family’ moments, and now even the headline of this article?!?! Garcia’s love crisis?!?! So, yeah, well, there may be a couple of criminals out there, but, hey, it is sooooo much more important to see the characters talking about their romantic interests….! This is slowly turning into Castle and Unforgettable, and viewers already have that. I am still watching, because I am fond of the characters and sometimes the cases are good enough, but I always record it, so I can skip those annoying “we-are-family” moments.

M.C., I couldn’t agree more. My interest in the romantic crappola is less than zero — try -100. This is not Love Boat! I’m as picky as they come. The fact that I’ve been watching this series from its birth indicates that the storylines and characters have been extraordinary. Now I find myself doing something I never thought I’d do – intentionally avoiding certain episodes that I know lean strongly towards the personal – especially the ones with Hotch, Jack and Beth-the-Bore. Oh my stars! Which one of you writers came up with that storyline? And who selected an actress that has zero chemistry with Thomas Gibson (and he can make anyone look good). Luckily, I’m as patient and forgiving as I am picky; and I will continue to watch CM with the hope that the focus will switch back to what this incredible cast does best: use their genius and instincts to catch the bad guys and send them to H _ _ _. Hope Springs Eternal!
