TV quick hits: Sports Illustrated models vs. NBC, Misha Collins fun, ‘Hannibal’ art, more
We’re really going all across the board in today’s edition of TV quick hits, but we will start things off with what was one of the more awkward interviews of the day: The models of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue on “The Today Show.”
Here’s the thing about it: After the cover featuring Chrissy Teigen, Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge was shown in a censored form, the three ladies immediately took NBC to task, saying that in putting a ribbon over where their bikini bottoms were and that the network made it look “dirtier.” We’ve seen varying reactions to this, but we have two thoughts almost immediately:
1. You’re going to censor the part where they are actually wearing clothes, while they still have no tops on?
2. The way that they have put the ribbon on there actually makes it look like they have nothing on, so we get what the ladies are saying.
“Hannibal” art – Are you ready for February 28 to roll around? We know that there are quite a few out there who are, and they will probably find this new bit of promotional art for “Hannibal” season 2 fairly creepy. In between this show and “True Detective” (which we highly recommend in case you are in need of brilliant television), we imagine that we are getting our complete fill of all things antlers right now. We just hope that some people find this show in its new timeslot, and the Olympics are leading to some good promotion for it.
Misha Collins fun – We write about “Supernatural” regularly, and while there may not be enough information here to constitute a full story, why not vote for him for a Shorty Award? His charity Random Acts is already leading in that category, and he also for some reason is leading “Government” over NASA and other things.
One final story – For all fans of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” the show is not being forced to “sashay away!” anytime soon. Logo has just renewed the show for a seventh season.
