‘House of Lies’ season 3, episode 6 review: Marty’s plan falls completely apart
On Sunday night’s new episode of “House of Lies,” things started to be completely insane when it comes to the “business relationship” that was formed between Marty and the people over at DollaHyde. This was a disturbing, funny, and random bottle episode of the show that basically showed precisely what can happen when you throw a number of flawed human beings into a room with their own selfish emotions and motivations, and hope that nothing wrong will happen at all.
Instead, you have Doug accidentally killing Lukas’ dog, Marty and Jeannie playing the game a little bit too hard, and a party that ended up in an all-out brawl that could cost Kaan & Associates everything that they were trying to set up.
While there were some moments in here that were a tad predictable, this story was all about the build. Marty started this off by being firmly against Lukas, then over time started to consider shifting allegiance to a place where he thought there could be a little more in control. (Yes, you are in an insane place when you think that “a little more control” is actually working with a dealer.) It started to really feel like that was the direction that this was going in, but after the dog incident and then the fight, we really don’t know.
The difficult part of this episode is that since there only were a few isolated events that actually transpired in the end, there’s not that much to discuss. What it really did a good job at was giving all of the characters something to do, and then adding in a few funny moments to provide that extra punch. With that being said, we still wish the show was just a tad bit funnier than it is, and that the show figured out what it was going to do with Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell’s characters. Grade: B.

The show needs to be 1 hour long. To many issues to deal with in a half an hour. Jeanie is a woman scorn. Marty needs to wise up get a backbone and kick her to the curb , she is going to destroy Kaan and associates. The writers better get going , this is the worst season yet. Dollar hyde was cool in the beginning, but I expected more risk and crazy scenarios. Their was more risk and over the top scenarios with Metro capital. Take a clue from shameless.
