‘The Bachelor’: Is Juan Pablo Galavis ‘confused’ on what he wants? Renee Oteri suggests so

There have been all sorts of problems with “The Bachelor” this season, but so many of them all come back to the leading man. We get why so many people were excited to see Juan Pablo Galavis in the leading role going into this season, thinking that he was going to have that same mixture of humor and charm that we had with Sean Lowe.

Instead, we have a guy who comes across at times as somewhat superficial with his conversations, and has a criteria on both what he wants and what he finds acceptable behavior that changes on the day. He wants a family, but yet he keeps around a woman in Sharleen Joynt who doesn’t seem that interested in one. He also objects to kissing Clare Crawley in the ocean, and then does something very similar with Andi Dorfman in New Zealand.

Clearly, all of this has been projected loud and clear to the ladies on this season, and if they didn’t catch it while they were filming, they certainly have since arriving back home. Speaking in a conference call with reporters this week. Renee Oteri answered a question on whether or not Juan Pablo was confused with a very honest answer; it also was not completely negative towards him, since it suggested that the ladies are also at fault for this:

“Watching it, it does seem like that. You know, and I don’t know what goes on when I’m not around.  So seeing these conversations unfold, yes, it does seem like he’s a little bit confused. However, I don’t know. When he’s with me, we are on like the family level, like that’s what we talk about. And when he’s with the other girls, it’s just different … So I think that each girl is bringing out something different in him, and I mean, he seems confused as to what he wants. It’s just a different lifestyle whichever way you look at it.”

There have been times this season where some of the ladies in the conference calls have been eager to jump on the “bash Juan Pablo” bandwagon, but we really don’t get much of a sense that this is something that Renee is trying to do. She said that the two had many serious conversations despite what has been shown at times, but also expressed how difficult it was watching him move so fast to kiss other women, while he took it much slower with her.
