‘Saturday Night Live’: With no new episode, watch Vanessa Bayer talk Miley Cyrus
It is not very often that we are sitting here in February and talking about a “Saturday Night Live” filming hiatus, but the presence of a certain something known as the Sochi Olympics has caused this to happen. The show will be back on March 1 for an episode hosted by Jim Parsons of “The Big Bang Theory,” but to help tide you over (especially since there are not even any repeats), we at least have a pretty fun video now featuring cast member Vanessa Bayer.
If you look below, you can see Vanessa’s appearance on “Conan” this week, where she explained a little bit about how she does her famed impersonation of Miley Cyrus … and also how she actually had to instruct the “We Can’t Stop” singer as to the best way to do. The two parties were actually a part of a sketch together earlier this season that was two Mileys engaging in conversation together.
While it doesn’t really seem like it was that long ago that Bayer first joined the show, she now feels more and more like one of the “SNL” senior players thanks to all the departures the past couple of years. Nasim Pedrad is one of the few females that are still present who have been around longer at this point, and even from the writing standpoint we have lost someone big recently in Seth Meyers. Luckily, the show has managed to navigate so many other big changes over the past few years, and we have little to no doubt that they will pull this one off, as well.
Conan, of course, has his own “SNL” connections, joining Jimmy Fallon and Meyers as late-night hosts with that major distinction.
