‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 notes: Town becomes King’s Landing; Michelle Fairley’s new role

Game of Thrones - There are a couple of little stories to get to right now when it comes to “Game of Thrones,” but we shall begin here with one that we simply just find to be both delightful and silly: A town is paying tribute to the hit HBO series by giving itself a new name over the course of the next two weeks.

Typically known as Kings Langley, this town in the United Kingdom will be none as King’s Landing until February 23 as a way to promote the show’s upcoming third-season DVD coming out. The town is already getting involved with the promotion as best as it can, mostly because they have to know that it is a nice little way to promote their own tourism sector. If we were them, then we would try to serve some classic Westeros cuisine (which we’re supposing includes barrels of wine and mead), perform rousing renditions of the theme song, and have someone dressed as the Hound roaming around the town.

In other news … Michelle Fairley as booked a new role! She is set to replace Judy Davis in the upcoming “24: Live Another Day,” which is going to be coming on Fox starting in May. While details surrounding her appearance are not entirely clear, we do know that she will play the part of Margot, a British national who also happens to be the widow of a terrorist. In all estimations, that probably means that Jack Bauer is going to come knocking on her door at some point.

While the woman behind Catelyn Stark (spoiler alert!) died at the end of season 3 in the Red Wedding, it’s always possible that she could return in some form (dream sequence, flashback, and so on). We’ll find out more about her future soon enough.
