Olympics and repeats: Are ‘The Blacklist,’ ‘Castle,’ ‘2 Broke Girls,’ or ‘Intelligence’ new tonight?
Let’s start first of all with the sad news for those of you with a hankering for more of “The Blacklist”: There still is no new episode coming on NBC tonight. What’s the reason for that? Think along the lines of the Olympic Games coming in and slowing everything down a little bit. New episodes of the show will actually start airing again come February 24. (Head to the bottom of this article for some more ratings-related news on that.)
When it comes to some other shows impacted by the Olympics, here is what you need to know: Most of the major network stuff is in repeats, save for Fox’s entire lineup of “Almost Human” and “The Following.” CBS is running repeats of everything except “Intelligence,” which is the only thing new on network TV at 10:00 p.m. unless you want to watch sports.
Over on ABC, you still have “The Bachelor,” but “Castle” will not return until next week. The CW has new installments of both “Hart of Dixie” and “Beauty and the Beast,” but in the case of the former, it will be its last episode for a few weeks until it shifts over to a new timeslot on Friday nights. On cable, there are new episodes of “Teen Wolf,” “Swamp People,” “Vanderpump Rules,” and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” The majority of the cable lineup is unchanged.
Now, let’s turn to the other order of business that we mentioned earlier with “The Blacklist,” and it seems to happen with this show almost every week: There’s another new DVR record! For the January 20 episode, the show grew by 6.6 million viewers, jumping from 8.8 to 15.4 million viewers when you count the live+7 data. That is the biggest increase for any network show in history, and serves as yet another reminder that for whatever reason, this show is resonating with viewers.
We’ll be back with some more stories and updates on this subject the rest of this Olympic break, so be sure to check back with more of that.

Well, considering its ratings didn’t improve, I’d assume people chose to watch either sports or nothing over “Intelligence”.
