‘Psych’ season 8, episode 6 preview: Why is Juliet leaving?
Do you see that question in the title? Well, that is something that fans of “Psych” have been more or less wondering since the news first broke that Maggie Lawson was only going to be in a handful of episodes this season. There had to be a point in which we learned why Juliet O’Hara is no longer going to be a part of the team, and that point seems to be coming in the new episode on February 26 entitled “1967: A Psych Odyssey.”
The promo below doesn’t really allow you to have too much of an opportunity to find out what the mystery of the week is for Shawn and Gus; however, it does show the aftermath of what happened in the last new episode with Trout’s firing. Lassiter may now become the Chief of Police! While Chief Vick is back, it may only be for a brief amount of time as she was offered a job up north, and is offering Juliet the opportunity to come with her as her lead detective.
Given what we know already about Lawson’s absence, it makes sense that she would take the job, even if she and Shawn have worked some things out ever since the news came out to her that he was actually a psychic detective. (By the way, that “what if?” episode around that last year was one of our five favorites of the entire series.) All we hope is that she will find a way to be back in time for the finale, given that this may be the last time that we ever see “Psych” on our television screens (at least as far as new episodes goes). It was recently confirmed that season 8 will be the show’s last, and the only hope for more would be in the form of something designed or set up down the road.
