‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 spoilers: How can Norman Reedus’ Daryl move on?
During the premiere of “The Walking Dead” last night, the sad news for many is that there was no appearance at all for Daryl Dixon in there. Instead, the action was concentrated almost entirely on the likes of Rick, Carl, and Michonne as they worked to try to establish their lives again after the fallout of the prison. (That in itself had to be a pretty darn impossible task.)
So where does the story go from here with his character? This is something that executive producer Gale Anne Hurd touched on recently in a new interview with E! News, where she explained in detail all about how losing the prison is going to represent to Daryl losing an even greater part of who he is after starting to have some of the positivity in his life again:
“Daryl had found a new family after the loss of his own brother, and he had become not only a valued and respected member, but someone who could actually joke around … He was finally beginning to see the light at the end of a very dark and brutal tunnel, and now that’s been ripped apart with the fall of the prison, with the banishment of Carol. We’ll have to see how he copes with those twin tragedies.”
We imagine that if you do love Daryl, though, you won’t be without him forever. There are still some plans for the show to tell his story in the upcoming episodes, even though there are only a few left this season. After all, fans love Norman Reedus enough that the show would never ignore him; as a matter of fact, we hear that some of the best is still yet to come.
