‘The Biggest Loser’: Bob Harper ‘stunned’ at Rachel Frederickson’s weight loss in new TV chat
Just before the story of “The Biggest Loser” contestant Rachel Frederickson, known for losing a ton of weight but also so much to the point that she was classified as underweight at the time she won, comes to a close, we have one more quote to share. This time around, it is once again from one of the show’s most-famous trainers, but in an environment where he really had to address the issues of her weight loss head-on.
Speaking to Rachael Ray at a taping for her show (which is going to air a little later next week), Harper explained his initial shock at seeing her at the finale. He (who was not her trainer on the show) also put it in a little bit more of a historical perspective as someone who has been there since the beginning:
“What people don’t understand is, when the contestants leave to go home…they’re in charge of themselves. I had not seen her until that night, and so when she walked out, I was just kind of like, ‘Whoa.’ And I’ve been on the show since the beginning, forever … I was stunned. That would be the word. I mean, we’ve never had a contestant at 105 pounds.”
Rachel’s trainer Dolvett Quince has come out already and said that there is no reason for anyone to worry, and that her journey is still far from over despite going through everything that she has on the show. Really, we feel in the end like we are not going to know the real results of anything one way or another until things start to settle down in the months that follow. Now that the competition is over and real life begins, it will be interesting to see what she does.
With that in mind, we may be saying goodbye to this story for now … at least unless there is another shocking update that comes up at some point.
