How about this for a “Game of Thrones” announcement! A promotion before a new season even starts filming! It is with that in mind that we do of course have to caution you that there are some spoilers ahead, just in case you are afraid of finding out at least one person who is probably going to be making it through the upcoming ten episodes alive.
According to a new report from Deadline, actress Nathalie Emmanuel has been upped to a series regular, where she will now join the legion of other people with such a title on the show. She plays the role of Missandei, the former slave who, upon being “freed” by Danaerys Targeryan, becomes invaluable to her as an adviser while she attempts to prepare to seize the iron throne for her famous House.
Obviously, this promotion guarantees that unless she is just going to be a ghost, Missandei makes it through all of season 4 alive … and you may be able to assume something similar about Dany, unless you think that Missandei could have a huge story without ever. Either way, this is a big announcement that is definitely great news for Emmanuel, and a chance for the show to move forward to what will be the possible beginning of the end for the show (which we see maybe having a life of seven or eight seasons).
“Game of Thrones” technically has not been renewed yet for a fifth season, but it is widely expected to, given that it is arguably HBO’s biggest hit at the moment. The real question that many may have is whether or not the show can continue without a break now, given that they are almost at the end of where the George R.R. Martin book series is, and they want to make sure that the book is the one to tell the story before the show.
