NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 spoilers: B.J. Novak to guest-star on finale
“Community” has given us a whole heap of guest stars over the course of this season, whether you are talking about some of the guest stars who have already appeared (Nathan Fillion, Paget Brewster), or some of the guest stars that are still to come on the show (Vince Gilligan, David Cross).
So who is going to be appearing at the tail end of the season? Think along the lines of a guy who has plenty of experience starring on NBC comedies as it is: B.J. Novak. Sources confirm that the former “Office” star, who now is heavily involved with Fox’s “The Mindy Project,” is going to guest-star in a mysterious role that Entertainment Weekly describes only as some sort of “TV star.” This could be interesting, mostly because the last thing that the folks at Greendale Community College typically get themselves involved in are people who are actually famous for something.
“Community” so far has figured out a way to return to form, even in spite of that infamous “gas leak season” last year. Even with the original creator instilled in the show again, there was no guarantee that it would work and create some more interesting television. Sometimes, you just cannot get the magic back.
Novak is a busy man even away from his aforementioned shows. His first book is out this week, and he also has a role coming up in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” Exciting? You better believe it, and now we just have to make it through this Olympic hiatus that is forcing all new programming to hide out until the ratings monster has finished destroying all other programs.
