‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4, episode 18 review: Ian Harding’s Ezra turns terrifying

The latest -All season long on “Pretty Little Liars,” you have been hoping for answers when it comes to the Ezra character. Who is he, and what does he want? Ian Harding has played this well, but the great thing about this episode in particular is that for one of the first times, we had a chance to really see more about how he works and operates … complete with secret computers and evil glances.

Of course, the other difficult part of this story came mostly courtesy of trying to make sure that there was a way that Aria would actually believe some of what she was being told.

While Aria was at a romantic weekend with the man of her dreams (or so she thought), we did start to see a little bit more evidence when it comes to everyone else that they were really starting to catch on. This episode was a solid one, but the problem here is that we really thought we’d be getting a full scope of what Ezra was capable for in it. Ian Harding was great, but the story felt like there could have been so much more to it than there was.

As for what else happened this week, the most notable highlight was just finding out the truth regarding Shana and her alliance with Ali … which seemed to be short-lived. Is the long-thought-dead runaway going to finally have to work with more of the Liars? We hope so, since that is going to make the picture for this show so much clearer. Grade: B.
