ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6, episode 14 review: Do Castle and Beckett have new wedding date?

Tonight’s “Castle” season 6 episode was a big one, especially when it comes to figuring out just what is going to happen when it comes to Rick, Kate, and a potential wedding date.

But, we will get to that in a second. The immediate focus of this episode was more about the death of an assistant to one of the most powerful fashion editors in New York City in Matilda King (Frances Fisher). Basically, this was “The Devil Wears Prada” all over again (because that hasn’t been done to death at this point). There were some twists and turns in here, and eventually, we also ended up learning a few more things about Beckett’s past in the process.

Unfortunately, there were also some other things that we learned when it comes to Beckett in the present. After all, we had an opportunity to learn in here that Stana Katic’s character was not as ready to move on to the next phase of her life as she perhaps thought. When she found out that there was a possibility that she could be married in the spring, she balked. While she did end up getting the grand wedding dress that she wore in the photo above, she was not able to commit to a venue … at first. The two did decide, after realizing that Beckett’s hesitation was in fact due to her mom and some of the hopes and dreams that came with that, that they do want to get married sooner rather than later. We’re looking at a wedding this season! That, coupled with an interesting mystery, gives us a reason to feel happy after watching this episode. Grade: B+.
