’24: Live Another Day’: See the first promo with Kiefer Sutherland from Super Bowl

Who says that blockbuster movies are the only ones that get a super-cool promo during the Super Bowl? The big game also yielded an opportunity today for Kiefer Sutherland to remind everyone how awesome he can be as Jack Bauer.

In the video below, you can catch a first glimpse at “24: Live Another Day,” the much-anticipated miniseries that is going to show you 12 more hours of Bauer’s life … and also plenty of explosions. Production only recently started on the new show, so if there is one thing that you should know about this already, it is that the footage that you are seeing here is not anything that you are going to be seeing on the show itself. We wouldn’t be surprised if this was created specifically for the purpose of the big game, and that’s it.

There are a couple of other things to note here:

1. The premiere date of May 5 is still very interesting to us, given that it is Fox throwing this show to the wolves against some others in the May sweeps. Clearly, they think that it will perform well enough to not have to worry about some of the competition.

2. Also, the whole “limited series” label here may be pretty misleading to some of you. Personally, we believe this more or less to be “a limited series only if the ratings aren’t good.” Given that Sutherland signed on for this in the first place, the general belief is that they could find a way to do another season of this in the future if the price and the numbers are right.
