‘Game of Thrones’ season 4: Official photos featuring Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, more

Every season, HBO likes to drop us a “Game of Thrones” gift a couple of months early in the form of official photos. This time around, luckily enough, is no exception!

We wanted to start off here with the image attached of Tyrion and Sansa, mostly because it is one of the few that actually gives away a spoiler or two about what is going to be coming up. These two seem to be at least sort-of close now, at least in that Sansa has started to realize that her new husband, regardless of whether or not either of them want him to be in that role, is going to be interested in trying protect her. He may be a scoundrel, but there is some more good in the heart of this Lannister than most other members of this family.

Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, and Kit Harrington are of course some of the notable actors in the images below, though there are also many others worth noting in there, as well. Also, you can catch a glimpse for the first time of the show’s version of the Red Viper, an also the new Daario, which was recasted over the course of the summer without much of a reason given. Another interesting surprise to us is the sight of more Ygritte in the photos; while readers of the books know a good bit about her character’s story already, it felt like the show had managed to find a different way to do away with her if they so chose. This season will be in some ways a hodgepodge of much of George R.R. Martin’s source material, with parts of the fourth book in particular being left out due to its density and lack of inclusion of so many key characters.
