NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5, episode 6 preview: Abed and Katie Leclerc
We promised earlier this week that we would have more scoop when it comes to Thursday’s big “Community” episode and its many guest stars … and here we are with some footage of Katie Leclerc.
The “Switched at Birth” star is appearing on this show in the role of a deaf student at Greendale who forms some sort of attachment to Abed’s character, only to see some more twists and circumstances come into play. As for how the two of them meet, the new sneak peek (via TVLine) shows that it happens as a result of Abed trying to tune out all of the noise in Greendale. He doesn’t want a big episode of one of his favorite shows spoiled, and so he wanders around in headphones to try to ensure that nobody can take anything away from him.
When he meets Leclerc’s character, it comes with the realization that there isn’t really anything to worry about. She can still understand him given that she is a lip reader, but since he doesn’t really understand sign language, he doesn’t have to worry about her finding a way to take something from him that he is excited for.
When it comes to Abed right now, we really just have to be excited for anything that at least makes him happy temporarily. Just think about what the guy has been through lately. He has always been socially stunted, and he now has to figure out how to function in this world without Troy, his best friend and ally through almost everything in the world that he goes through. That is not going to be easy no matter how you spin it.
