‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5, episode 12 video: Damon denies Katherine again!
Last week on “The Vampire Diaries,” we bid farewell to the infamous character of Katherine Pierce … sort of. In reality, what we did more than anything else is watch the character transfer bodies, where she is now trapped inside of Elena ready and willing to cause so much more mayhem.
Unfortunately for everyone else on the show, though, they are not privy to most of this information just yet. So instead, they are stuck in the ever-so-terrible position of thinking that she is dead, and getting that whole “surprise!” moment later when they figure out just how she has found a way to inflict even more chaos and destruction in the lives of many. You get a good sense of the obliviousness of all of our characters in the sneak peek, where Damon tells Nadia that he has disposed of Katherine’s body for good. Not only that, but Ian Somerhalder plays this perfectly courtesy of a line about just how overjoyed he is to be able to keep Katherine from having her last wish become a reality. (He is going to be so very disappointed later, right?)
Given that this episode is entitled “The Devil Inside,” it’s pretty obvious that the woes of a certain Katherine are going to take center stage. Let’s just hope that to go along with this that there are some moments where we see some other stories progress, especially with Bonnie. It felt like there was more to tell with her than we received in the 100th episode.
