‘The Blacklist’ episode 14 preview: What we know so far about ‘The Katana’
Are you excited to see more of “The Blacklist” coming on the air? Well, bottle that excitement up for a while, since it is going to be a little while from now until you see the show return to NBC with all-new episodes.
Thanks in part to the Olympic Games starting up next week, the show will be on hold until Monday, February 24, which happens to be the day after the closing ceremonies. That is when the next new episode, entitled “The Katana,” is going to air. That is the first of nine episodes that will run to close off the season, and all of these are going to air following new episodes of “The Voice.”
As for what will be coming up when the show does return, expect more traditional cases, but also character development into what is going on in all of these peoples’ lives. For example, Elizabeth Keen is in a constant state of sadness now that she has not gone through with the adoption. Is she letting Red and his warnings get to her, or does she realize herself that something is amiss when it comes to Tom? Personally, we see it as a combination of the two more so than anything else.
Also, expect to see a little bit more into who Red is, and what his potential endgame could be at the end of all this craziness. This is a show that has tried very hard to build up this mythology, but it has started to peel some of those layers off. We know that something happened to his family to really put him on this path; we just have to figure out who those family members were, and how they are connected to “Lizzie.”

I think Red went rogue to do the right thing, put the criminals in their place. And his primary objective is to completely rid the blacklist of all the names in order to make the world a better place. Call it a hunch.
