‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2, episode 11 review: Vincent, Cat, and moving forward
Was there some good news for you on “Beauty and the Beast” Monday night? We imagine that this depends on whether or not you are a fan of Vincent and Cat at least making one step in the right direction.
While the two are not exactly romantic again, this episode at least laid some of the groundwork for the two as they try to move forward and figure out just what are the origins of a mysterious necklace that comes down from Cat’s ancestors. Clearly, she is much more connected to this world than she even realized at first. Vincent realizes this, and he also is well aware that there is nothing that is going to come from keeping her at a distance. Even with Tori around, she doesn’t change that. (Tori was not really in the good mood to actually be nice to Cat this week, though; we at least figured that much out for sure.)
When it comes to some other people in Cat’s personal life, she made the move tonight to decide not to make Gabe feel like he is being strung along. She told him that she’s not ready for love right now, even if there was that kiss last week. While that is not closing the door on the idea of these two being together for good, it is a sign of where her heart lies … and she is not so confused and torn-up by what Vincent and Tori have been up to.
There was a nice little cliffhanger in the end when it comes to that necklace, which is yet another sign that we have quite a bit of good stuff coming the rest of the way. While we cannot say this was the most shocking episode ever, we liked it. Hopefully it serves as a nice foundation for the next few. Grade: B.

Good review and I agree with a lot of what you said
Matt. I am very happy with this episode
I must say as it is a turning point and clearly illustrates the direction the
writers and producers are taking this show. The highlight for me was that moment on the
floor when VinCat took that tiny step towards trusting each other again –
totally well played by both actors. I
also loved their chat at the end as it gave a much missed small glimpse of who
they used to be together. I figured out
the ‘drunk guy’ was a plant the minute Tess said that she invited everyone to
her party except the drunk guy but I still jumped up and screamed at the end! I
really love this show and feel that it is getting better and better!!! Lookin’
forward to Season 3.

Very disappointed with the episode “Held Hostage”. This episode is far from being the best so far. I do not understand how they can see something “finally working” between V. and Cat. All I saw was a more unresolved Catherine in her feelings for Vincent than ever. For God’s sake! Allison Argent (Crystal Reed) of Teen Wolf and Scott McCall (Ty Posey)and are WAY better resolved and mature than those two and they are teenagers. All I saw was a lot of pressure to maybe a possible twirl between Cat and V when she and my beautiful Gabe are just beginning. Meanwhile Vincent, the Macho-beast, goes around with Tori. And why w e can’t see any interaction between The Beauty and and the GABE, which is sexier and beautiful than ever….without the NEED of the USE OF WORKOUT SCENES? Once Vincent is with Tori…..let Cat be with Gabe, for the love of God. Let her spent a long time with him. Probably she’ll find where true love is. What is not fair is for us is to keep seeing V. and Tori moving foward while Cat is figuring out if she keeps stuck in the past, or move foward with or without a man. Obviously she took this decision over the brief conversation with V, and clearly she is not over him. And Tess…..WTH was the HUG?????”My hero”???? Oh, please! Best chapter so far????LMFAO….No way.

Good review. IMO best show this season; lots of great VinCat moments including how he heard her heartbeat just prior to their raid, her jealousy re Tori and in the end Vincent showed that he is not a lost cause and he chose saving the hostages over protecting his secret and continuing his search for the necklace. Also noted Vincent’s reaction to Gabe – green eyes there even if he’s not able to admit it yet. Thoroughly enjoyed Cat’s butt kicking of Tori – I guess the necklace weakens beasts is my initial thought. Finally saw Cat make a mature decision – that she needs to find herself (without a man e.g. Gabe) before she can be ready for a relationship; this is the authentic journey I kept saying they needed to have Cat begin and not simply falling for Mr Perfect – sorry he’s way tooo perfect. Good news is that Cat has history of liking bad boys and Gabe’s an angel (LOL). Overall it was a small step forward which is fitting with how far they hit rock bottom this season so it wouldn’t be credible if they were to suddenly flip a switch and lived happily ever after. Also liked that Tess softened toward Vincent which again will help down the road. Only major disappointment is that there was no JT this show – this is never a good thing, but I think next week is focused on JT and I believe he reveals his role in Vincent being selected by Murfield and Cat & Vincent work together to rescue him.
