‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ season 4, episode 13 review: Carlton Gebbia’s house of sin
Now that the drama between Brandi and Joyce seems to be over (thank god) on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” we can put more of the focus on cast members that we actually want to see every week… like Carlton. Love her or hate her she’s easily become the most controversial housewife with her beliefs in the Wiccan religion and very open sexual life (which seems to include bringing other women into her marriage and a “play room” so crazy it has to be under lock and key from her children). If you were hoping Carlton was going to tone things down on tonight’s new episode, you might want to change the channel.
Carlton’s party: So Carlton and her husband send their kids away for the weekend so they can throw a party that can best be describes as an “Eyes Wide Shut” type of shindig filled with pole dancers, women painted in gold and gift bags that would make anyone blush. The women seem to be having a fun time and for once there’s no fighting.
What kind of “star” is it?: When Kyle sees Carlton’s new tattoo of a pentagram at the party she asks if it’s a Star of David. We weren’t really sure why Kyle asked that since they had a conversation about Carlton’s Wiccan religious beliefs weeks ago (and Kyle is Jewish so shouldn’t she know the difference?) While it created a little bit of tension, it was quickly alleviated when Carlton tells Kyle she loves the necklace she’s wearing and Kyle takes it off and gives it to her.
Yolanda’s painting party: Wanting to do something nice for her daughter who’s going off to school, Yolanda brings the ladies over to create paintings for her daughter to take on her journey. Carlton seems to be in a mood and asks the girls if anyone’s gossiping about her, specifically Kyle. Even though Kyle gave her the peace offering, Carlton had a dream that Kyle was talking badly about her religion behind her back. Because Kyle is busy working on “Days of her Lives”, she’s not there and the ladies tell Carlton that she should talk to her specifically about it. Things start to get even more weird when Joyce tells Carlton that spells only work if someone believes in them and Carlton says to watch out. Later that night Michael gets extremely sick and Joyce worries that maybe Carlton really did put a spell on her and her family.
The one thing we really want to know the truth about was when Kyle revealed that George Clooney used to write his lines on his hands while on “ER”. Very interesting reveal from Kyle… kinda threw Clooney under the bus there for no reason.
We were so happy to see the garbage between Brandi and Joyce finally over. It has been really negative and has taken over the whole season, so it was great to see some more fun rich people stuff happening like Carlton’s party. Grade: B –
