‘New Girl’ season 3 spoilers: See Prince in Super Bowl episode promo

“New Girl” has quite a bit to feel super about right now. The show not only is a stalwart of Fox’s comedy lineup, but it gets an opportunity to air after the Super Bowl episode in a week’s time. That means big ratings, and also an opportunity to really bring the fire in the guest-star department.

With that in mind, just look below to see your first glimpse of Prince in his big guest spot for the show. While there may not be too many details out there just yet about his appearance on the show, what we can tell you is that Prince is going to be hosting a big party during the episode, which somehow Jess and Nick get themselves completely mixed up in.

The promo below may be extremely short, but it does contain what we already feel could be a pretty classic “New Girl” moment: The sight of Nick screaming / passing out at the sight of Prince. Is he a big-time Prince fan? If so, we haven’t really haven’t heard much about it. The best way to describe Nick is that he may just be reacting in the same way that anyone would upon meeting an incredibly famous person / recluse that makes an effort to not make any public appearances at all. The fact that he wanted to be on the show, even to the point where he reached out to producers, is a pretty stunning revelation indeed.

The only fear that we have over this episode? That sometimes, we have a tendency to see shows for the Super Bowl try so hard to be big events that they forget in the process to be funny and stick to their roots.
