‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7, episode 14 preview: First look at James Earl Jones
Are you ready for the next all-new episode of “The Big Bang Theory” to air? When we are talking about Thursday’s “The Convention Conundrum,” there is one thing that is almost immediately going to come to mind courtesy of the new preview below via CBS: James Earl Jones. The man behind Darth Vader’s famous voice is not only guest-starring, but it seems as though he is also spending a ton of time with Sheldon … perhaps more than most people could stomach.
While the reasons specifically for Jones’ arrival are unclear, we know that this episode starts off with what is some devastating news for some of the guys: Thanks to Comic-Con tickets selling out, they have to figure out what else they are going to do with their time. Obviously, Jim Parsons’ character finds a way in which to spend some time of his own with Jones, and at some point during this episode Carrie Fisher is also going to be making an appearance. If only they had found a way to get Mark Hamill, this would have become even more awesome. We’re going ahead and ruling out Harrison Ford, since he doesn’t really seem that interested in talking about “Star Wars” in most of the interviews that he does.
The most interesting thing about this episode is mostly that it is the show full-on embracing a property that is owned by the same parent company as their rival network ABC. It is for this reason that we don’t typically see much in the way of Marvel properties referenced, and yet they are willing to show a good deal more of “Star Wars.” One of the other reasons for this, though, may be that the show’s studio Warner Bros. has very close ties to DC, so they have a further commitment to highlighting their heroes than they might showing off something like “Star Trek” over “Star Wars” 24 / 7. With that being said, we do see a lot of “Trek” references on the show as it is.
