‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: Pedro Pascal talks playing the Red Viper
While “Game of Thrones” season 4 may not premiere on HBO until Sunday, April 6, odds are that you have probably heard already about one of the most-prominent new additions to the cast: The Red Viper. This man, otherwise known by Oberyn Martell, is perhaps the most-prominent new face that you will see in Westeros. He brings a different sort of personality to the show, in addition to a specific mission that you will find out more about as the episodes progress.
Leading the way in the role of the Viper is actor Pedro Pascal, who has to be more than thrilled to be a part of the family already. He was with the cast at the SAG Awards last week even though he was not a part of the season 3 ensemble, and he told “Access Hollywood” a few assorted details all about what you can expect from his character:
“He is a prince who doesn’t play by the rules. He comes from the land of Dorne to King’s Landing to mix things up, and he has a pretty specific agenda. He doesn’t care what people think, and also doesn’t think what consequence [he might bring] … He doesn’t give a s***.”
As for what sort of footage we have seen of the character to this point, it is mostly just relegated to a few brief glimpses in the first trailer released HBO.
