‘Bones’ season 9, episode 14 preview: Booth, Brennan, and waffles

Who does not love a good waffle? Clearly, Booth is one who understands the greatness of the common breakfast item, and you see that in the newest sneak peek video from Friday night’s new episode of “Bones.”

While this preview below does not really give you too much in the way of an impression about the upcoming case (which has something to do with the extremely complicated world of chess), it is still important on two separate fronts. First of all, it allows for an opportunity for us to see how Brennan is apparently the queen of useless facts about waffles. Meanwhile, we also learn about the couple’s competitive edge.

The evidence of the latter comes courtesy of a certificate that Christine (remember her?) brought home from preschool, which signified that she came in 15th place in a competition that was really all about racing with eggs. The complication that of course comes with this is that there were only 15 people in the race. Brennan clearly has a little bit higher expectations when it comes how her daughter should perform in such situations, and it is revealed that in part, this comes courtesy of her own relationship with her father.

While the last two episodes have been very much in an emotional vein, we are really hoping that this would will serve to mostly get us back in more of a comedic, lighthearted frame of mind as we get closer and closer to the end of the season. There really is not too big of a need to have us be extremely serious all of the time on the show. As a matter of fact, the fun is one of the man reasons that we love it.
