After ‘Parks and Recreation’ season 6, Rashida Jones to star in new TBS series
Rashida Jones may be getting more and more into the world of producing as of late, but that does not mean at all that she is going to be abandoning acting by any means.
Following her exit from “Parks and Recreation” season 6 in the near future, the actress is going to be moving forward to a new project from TBS … at least so long as the show makes it past the pilot stage. The series is coming from Steve Carell (her former “The Office” co-star) and his wife Nancy (who played Carol on the show), and is entitled “Tribeca.” The premise? Think of a send-up of some of those popular police procedurals, with the police officers and investigators being pretty darn terrible at their jobs.
Jones will be playing the part of Angie Tribeca on the show, who is actually a member of a crime unit in Los Angeles … which was at first a little bit surprising given that the name sounds a little bit like New York City. The biggest concern that we have here is that there is already another show out there like this, and it is called “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” Ironically, this show is done by Mike Schur, the same person who does “Parks and Recreation” on NBC.
We are going to see another episode of “Parks and Recreation” on the show Thursday night, and you better get ready to open up the tearducts a little bit. There are going to be some extremely emotional moments coming up, some grab your tissues, dive in, and enjoy.
