‘Survivor: Cagayan’: Meet full cast, including former NBA player Cliff Robinson

While we’re going to spend a little bit more time getting to know the cast of “Survivor: Cagayan” more in the coming weeks, we at least wanted to spend a second or two now discussing some of the players on this season that you may already know in some shape or form.

Do you know Cliff Robinson? The former NBA player is going to be one of the members of the Brawn tribe in this Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty season, and that makes sense. What is interesting about it to us, though, is that a guy this size may not actually do very well int he game. You really want to have someone who is capable of sustaining with the limited food, and this may take a serious wear and tear on his body … along with some other members of his tribe.

Also interesting? That the show has cast the President of the Miami Marlins baseball in David Samson. This is something that is especially interesting given that this show filmed in the summer, when baseball season was still going. Were his co-workers that happy to see him go away?

Personally, we don’t really see there being any problem with famous people / successful people on the show, mostly because it feels very unfair to penalize them just because of their success in life beforehand. Nonetheless, both of these guys could still be a target.

Beauty tribe (Solana)

Alexis Maxwell – 21-year old student from Addison, Illinois

Brice Johnston – 27-year old social worker from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Jefra Bland – 22-year old former Miss Kentucky Teen USA (token pageant contestant!) from Campbellsville, Kentucky

Jeremiah Wood – 34-year old male model from Dobson, North Carolina

LJ McKanas – 34-year old horse trainer from Boston Massachusetts

Morgan McLeod – 21-year old former NFL cheerleader from San Jose, California

The initial take here is that this tribe is stuffed full of model / actor types that want to be really famous and will charge for nightclub appearances after the show. Not much else.

Brains Tribe (Luzon)

David Samson – 45-year old President of the Miami Marlins from Plantation, Florida

Garrett Adelstein – 27-year old professional poker player from Santa Monica, California

J’Tia Taylor – 31-year old nuclear engineer from Chicago, Illinois

Kassandra “Kass” McQuillen – 41-year old attorney from Tehachapi, California

Latasha “Tasha” Fox – 37-year old accountant / former NFL cheerleader from St. Louis, Missouri

Spencer Bledsoe – 21-year old student from Chicago, Illinois

Seriously? These are the brains? Most disappointing group as a whole, mostly because we were expecting some of them to be at least a little bit more nerdy.

Brawn Tribe (Aparri)

Cliff Robinson – 46-year old former NBA All-Star from Newark, New Jersey

Lindsey Ogle – 29-year old hairstylist from Kokomo, Indiana

Sarah Lacina – 29-year old police officer from Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Tony Vlachos – 39-year year old police officer from Jersey City, New Jersey

Trish Hegarty – 48-year old pilates instructor from Needham, Massachusetts

Yung “Woo” Hwang – 29-year old martial arts instructor from Newport Beach, California

If nothing else, this tribe looks the part more than the others.

While we’re not going to give our pre-show pick away just yet, we will at least say that it took us all of about five seconds to figure out who it would be after getting a look at the entire cast. It’ll be interesting to see how that works out.
