‘Modern Family’ season 5: Sofia Vergara brings the funny to SAG Awards

Leave it to Sofia Vergara to create some of the fun to the 2014 SAG Awards red carpet. When you are in the thick of awards season, it can admittedly become very easy to just get completely lost in the shuffle, and to just start to see every awards show as more of the same.

Luckily, Sofia Vergara came to the rescue Saturday night with the entertainment. During the pre-show for the big sow in Los Angeles, the “Modern Family” start took prime advantage of the opportunity to have a little bit of fun. She started off an interview with Giuliana Rancic for the E! red-carpet pre-show by expressing her continued excitement to be there, and then proceeded to show off her gown by shaking her rear like she was in the middle of a routine on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Some other fun moments in here included Vergara making fun of her own singing, saying that she felt like an “old Jessica Rabbit” in her red-carpet dress, and also admitting, in an attempt per Giuliana’s attempt to showcase something that people would not expect, that she has to sleep with socks on. As a matter of fact, she just tucks them near her bed and just slips them on at any given moment before settling in at night.

While “Modern Family” was not a big winner at the Golden Globes this year, this is still a show that is capable of pulling off a big win at any given moment. You still have an actress of Vergara’s caliber around, just as you also have sharp writing and a great cast that will probably be making the Guild happy until it goes off of the air.
