‘The Carrie Diaries’ season 2, episode 12 preview: Ready for Carrie Bradshaw’s prom?

Next week’s new episode of “The Carrie Diaries” may be the night that Carrie never forgets … possibly. It could also be one that she would like to forget for a few reasons.

This upcoming episode is going to be entitled “This Is the Time,” and the title alone should be a great deal of evidence that this is going to be a sort of nostalgia-heavy episode that shows off a little romance, a little fun, and plenty of hijinks. A serious prom is something that can be great, but almost everyone has a few stories about something that went wrong at their prom. There is always a ton of partying, and that can sometimes include drinking / doing other things you may regret later. Based on the promo below for this episode, you can probably expect some of that to occur here.

“Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb), Mouse (Ellen Wong), Maggie (Katie Findlay), and Walt (Brendan Dooling) decide to go to their senior prom — at The Waldorf Astoria — together for a final hurrah. Larissa (Freema Agyeman) offers Carrie an opportunity that makes her rethink her plans for the next year. Mouse learns a secret about Donna LaDonna (Chloe Bridges) that could threaten her reign as queen bee. Meanwhile, Sebastian (Austin Butler) hides a big decision from Carrie.”

Given that this is the penultimate episode of the season, you know that there’s going to be some big (bleep) that hits the fan. The show has to do something to set the stage for the finale, and one of the smart things that they seem to be doing is bringing the show back somewhat to its roots with familiar characters.
