‘Elementary’ season 2 spoilers: Are there more Watson romances on the way?

Is there going to be a new love connection for Joan Watson on “Elementary”? We certainly cannot rule it out, mostly based on everything that we have already seen; but, we would be a little doubtful as to its success. Watson has went on many a date (some via the internet), and a good many of them have turned disastrous. Also, it has been revealed already that she is not going to be paired with Sherlock Holmes at any point during the series.

While you may be hopin for something by the time the finale rolls around this year, even the head of the show is for now being somewhat coy as to what you’re going to end up seeing. Speaking to TVLine, Rob Doherty teased that in the end, there may only be one person that has some sort of attachment to Watson worth watching out for:

“[Watson’s romantic life is] a little hard to predict at the moment … But as everyone now knows, Joan and Mycroft have something of a history, and that may be something we revisit as we get into the end run for this season.”

The return of Mycroft may be one of the biggest things worth looking out on the series moving forward, mostly because we know already now that we are not going to be seeing the return of Natalie Dormer as Moriarty this season. The show may need instead to rely either on guest stars, Sherlock’s brother, or some other villain that has yet to be introduced. Either way, this will an intriguing thing to get some more evidence on moving forward.
