‘True Blood’ season 7 spoilers: Luke Grimes recast; ‘Bunheads’ alum steps in
“True Blood” has gone through quite a bit as of late when it comes to its casting, at least in that they were really forced to scramble recently when it came to the role of James.
Originally, the man that they had for the part was Luke Grimes, who played him throughout the sixth season. However, he suddenly decided to drop out, with the big reason being supposedly that he was under the impression that he was going to be working more with Deborah Ann Woll more than he was going to end up doing so after reading the early scripts.
So who is going to be stepping in to the role for the rest of the final season? According to TVLine, former “Bunheads” star Nathan Parsons is set to step into the part previously held by Grimes. He is going to be a series regular for the remainder of the season, and the report suggests that Jason could even be in some sort of “love triangle” that comes by surprise. We’re assuming that one of the key players in here is going to be Jessica based on what we know about him already … but what about the other person? It’s either going to be a new love interest for him, or for Jessica.
The only thing that we are worried about when you make such a big deal about a casting at this point is that you run the risk of doing a little bit more than you should with a story. In the end, James is just not a character that you are going to think or care about as much as Sookie, Jason, or some of the others.
