‘Arrow’ season 2, episode 10 preview: Series boss on Sean Maher’s appearance, ‘Deathstroke 2.0’

Ready for the return of “Arrow” on TV? Wednesday night is going to be a big day for you, since the superhero show will be set to return to The CW with all-new episodes.

“Blast Radius” is the first one out, and judging from what show boss Andrew Kreisberg says in a new video from The CW below, there is quite a bit to get through. One of the first important notes here is the appearance of Sean Maher (“Firefly”) in the role of Shrapnel, a pretty iconic villain from the DC universe who will have his own sort of role here as a feared bomber. Maher is appearing the same season as his former onscreen sister Summer Glau, who is playing the part of Isobel Rochev, who hasn’t really been seen much since her impromptu hookup with Oliver Queen.

Also, Kreisberg hints that there will be more big stuff to come from Slade Wilson, who may as well be referred to now with the nickname of “Deathstroke 2.0”. Oliver may realize now on the island that in allowing Shado to die, he’s created quite the enemy for himself. Not only that, but this is an enemy who has the serum in his veins, and is stronger than just about anyone else out there. (Roy Harper was also injected on the last episode, and he’s going to be more in the exploration phase when it comes to his powers.)

Think of “Blast Radius” as another premiere in a sense, as everything set up here will build straight through to the rest of the season.
