‘Orphan Black’ season 2 spoilers: ‘The Killing’ alum Michelle Forbes scores arc
The cast of “Orphan Black” season 2 is starting to take shape more and more, and by that, we’re referring to much more than just all of the various clones that Tatiana Maslany is going to play.
It wasn’t that long ago that we told you that “Suits” star and show superfan Patrick J. Adams is going to be on the show in some capacity a little later on in the season, and will be taking on a part that is being closely guarded by the producers. Now, we’re hearing that Michelle Forbes, best known for her roles on both “The Killing” as well as “Chicago Fire,” is going to be playing the part of Marian Bowles in multiple episodes. This character is described as someone powerful within the Dyad Institute, who has a great opportunity to watch over everything transpiring between Sarah and Rachel.
“Orphan Black” seems to have its finger on the pulse of one major thing here: There is all sorts of great pressure on the show to really succeed on an even higher level than they did during its first go-around, especially when you are talking about the reception. Nobody knew going into last year that we were going to be screaming with joy during each episode, or anger when Maslany was snubbed by the Emmys. Therefore, they now have the sort of pressure to actually deliver something that lives up to expectations, and it’s clear to us that the sophomore slump is in fact a thing with many shows. It’s hard to keep that momentum going now that you’ve gotten that initial vision and idea out there for people to see.
What do you think: Is Forbes the right person to help lift this show to another level? Are you just excited for the Clone Club to reassemble come April when “Orphan Black” returns? Share your thoughts below.
