‘Sleepy Hollow’ finale spoilers: Is there a secret to George Washington’s death?

Have you enjoyed the heck out of “Sleepy Hollow” this season? We hope so, since this show has grown from being at times a guilty pleasure to a near addiction for us. It is fast-paced, fun at times, dramatic at others, and all in all a great experience worth watching time and time again.

Now, how is all of this going to come to a close? Let’s just say that the final episodes of this first season could involve an ancient government conspiracy, in addition to potentially some new secrets regarding a founding father and a hope that Captain Irving could make that changes his life forever. These final two hours of the show airing on January 20 are technically two episodes, but you can view the combined synopsis for them below:

“Ichabod and Abbie discover a dark secret buried within the pages of George Washington’s Bible and unearth the shocking true nature of the founding father’s death. Meanwhile, Capt. Irving makes a near-impossible decision for the sake of his beloved family that drastically changes his future. Then, the battle between good and evil comes to an explosive head. Sacrifices must be made, worlds collide, loyalties are tested and the town of SLEEPY HOLLOW will never be the same.”

The bad news here is obviously that following the end of this episode, we will embark on a wait that is literally going to last a good eight months. The second season will once again be 13 episodes, and the earliest that it will premiere is September. It’s also possible that Fox could wait even later than that, in the event that they want to start it in November after the MLB playoffs come to a close.
