‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Like Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev has Australian adventure
Who knew that Australia was such a prime vacation destination for so many stars of “The Vampire Diaries”?
Recently, we wrote about an outing that Phoebe Tonkin, her rumored new boyfriend Paul Wesley, and Nathaniel Buzolic (who played Kol on the show prior to the character dying last year) were all spotted in the country having a great time. Now, Nina Dobrev has made an arrival of her own on the continent! Nina has been offline since Christmas, so it has been a little harder to track her down using social media alone. However, she was reportedly spotted in Sydney this week with Buzolic, along with a chorus of other people. Apparently, Buzolic is the official Australian party planner of the gang.
While Australia may seem like a random place to go for some of the cast members to hang out, it does logistically make a little bit of since. Nathaniel hails from the country, as do both Phoebe and her “Originals” co-star Claire Holt. When you remember that Nina was born in Buglaria and grew up in Canada, Daniel Gillies is Canadian, and Joseph Morgan is from the United Kingdom, it is pretty surprising just how small of a percentage of the casts of “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” actually hail from the United States. Just in the Original family alone you have Morgan (UK), Gillies (Canada), Holt (Australia), Buzolic (Australia), and Caspar Zafer, who played Finn (Ukraine). That has to be the most international family of vampires and werewolves ever!
Dobrev, like many other stars of the hit CW show, is getting ready to start up work again in a big way stateside. “The Vampire Diaries” returns to TV with new episodes on Thursday, January 23, but there will be quite a bit going on even before that on the show’s set.
