‘The Americans’ season 2 spoilers: How much Margo Martindale will you see?
If there is one plea that you can make for a show that has Margo Martindale among its cast, it is that you get an opportunity to see as much of her on the show as humanly possible. In this case, that show is “The Americans.” We already know that she was a major part of the first season, but when you considered that she landed a full-time gig on the new CBS comedy “The Millers,” it was pretty easy to make the assumption that you were not going to see that much more of her moving forward.
While that will be the right assumption to make in a sense, you are probably going to see a little bit more of her than you first thought. According to TVLine, you are still going to see Claudia on the show for several episodes, and executive producer Joe Weisberg refers to the appearance as “emotional” and “surprising.”
Will these appearances make up for not getting a ton of her throughout the course of the season? Maybe. If nothing else, we have been lucky to be getting as much of her as we do, and that the producers of “The Millers” have been so accommodating when it comes to some of their actors getting a chance to work on other shows. For example, you also have Beau Bridges appearing in multiple episodes of “Masters of Sex” throughout its first season, and Jayma Mays still has two more appearances coming up on “Glee.” That is the sort of commitment to letting your actors shine as many places as possible that you really don’t often see from TV shows and their studios.
“The Americans” recently announced that it will be returning to the air on Wednesday, February 26 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and we will have more news leading up to it.
