‘House of Cards’ season 2 teaser: Frank Underwood and a rubber band
We have seen many a nondescript teaser over the course of the past several years (we are looking at you “Mad Men”), but the latest one for “House of Cards” season 2 may have taken the cake as one of the most random that we have ever seen. Basically, the entire content of this is based around Frank Underwood created a perfect metaphor for what may very well be the political world, and him doing so without even consciously thinking about it.
There’s really no sense in even describing this promo, since you can see for yourself below and figure it out within the span of a few short seconds. It is basically a man and a rubber band; nothing more, and nothing less. To us, we can say that this best represents the way that politics tend to shift from one status to the next. Sometimes, things are very fluid, and at other points, they are very rigid. It all depends on the people in power, and everything that they are trying to get done.
the surprising thing to us is that Netflix is deciding to release the entire second season of this show on Valentine’s Day, when we would assume that at least a decent percentage of the audience would be off doing other things, like preparing for a date. We did not really imagine that watching a show would be very high on the priority list for many out there. Then again, there are always a few that are looking for something different beyond just being surrounded constantly with flowers, diamonds and chocolates.
No matter when you watch it, there’s no doubt that there will be anticipation. Then again, the pressure is also going to be on to try and avoid some of the pitfalls that doom many other shows in their second go-around.
