‘White Collar’ season 5 spoilers: Matt Bomer, Mark Sheppard go at it in new ‘Live Feed’ photo
Are you missing “White Collar”? Well luckily, you are only going to have a week to wait before the first of the final four episodes of this season airs on USA. This is going to be an intense showdown in some ways, as Neal Caffrey is going to try to close up some of the major loose ends in his life, and that includes possibly taking down someone who has been connected to him in ever since the early days of the show: Curtis Hagen.
Based on the photo that we’ve attached here, Mark Bomer and Mark Sheppard are going to be spending quite a bit of time together in this episode, and it may not end well for the two of them. Neal is coming off a massive operation that saw his new love interest getting involved in Rebecca, and with his relationship with Peter constantly teetering, he may be on the edge now more than ever.
But Hagen is not an easy adversary, and this is why the next few episodes (or however long Sheppard is going to be around) should prove to be a formidable challenge. What we have liked about this season is that even though it is overall shorter than what we have had in the past, it has been consistent and well-placed. We’ve met most of the key players now, and the focus now shifts to the story getting us to where they want to in the next few episodes before signing off for quite a while.

This season has been great so far. Way better than 4 for sure. There have been a couple dud episodes but the good ones have been stellar! Rebecca has been a breath of fresh air and the best thing about this season. As much as I love the show, and it’s hard for me to say this, I’m starting to doubt if they have more material for more seasons. For one, all the misfortunes that can happen to a person have happened to Neal already…what’s left? Two, it’s becoming painfully hard to ignore that he should be off his anklet or atleast it needs to be addressed. Peter/Neal, push/pull tension is getting on my nerves. I like them as professional partners who care for each other. Neal’s gray areas are enough fodder for constant tension between them. Their personal jabs and getting into each other’s personal space is giving me a soap opera feel. Most of it has been from Peter’s side sadly enough. If they do get a season 6 maybe they could make it about Neal finally getting his life straightened professionally and personally. Seeing him finally free of all the “masters” would be largely cathartic, for me atleast! Would definitely love to see Rebecca back!

since the beginning of season 5, it has seemed to me that they were moving toward the end of the show…like you said, Neal sort of wrapping up loose ends…I hope I am wrong….As far as Rebecca is concerned, I love the way Neal looks when he is around her…his face lights up, he is so happy…so although it seems that she is playing him, I hope she is not……we fell in love with Neal Caffrey, Con Man, but they ended up trying to turn him into another Peter…he lost his edge and so did the show…Neal has been hinting that he is tired of being manipulated by “Masters” including Peter and will cut all ties…I think that is a good thing…He needs to get rid of the anklet and continue to work with the FBI on his terms, and also do his own thing with Mozzie, who is the only true friend…Peter will have a much harder catching Neal once that anklet is gone, since Neal knows all the FBI tricks, and lets face it, Neal Caffrey is much smarter than Peter Burke…

Love this season. Enjoy Neal being a little bad, Some of the banter between Neal and Peter has been fun, both of them undercover in Ice Breaker was great. I haven’t liked the “mean” Peter parts, calling Neal a criminal in a harsh way and not understanding about why he bribed the prosecutor, but I can forgive him because they usually bring them back together as friends again. Liked the dinosaur episode with Peter being so excitable, and enjoy the new addition of Rebecca, the nerdy rare book expert as a love interest. She and Neal play so well together, she is relatable, plays awkward well, and hope she is a red herring, and not working with Hagen. Neal lights up around her and they are great to watch. If there is a S6, I would love for Rebecca to come back and be Neal’s June. Love that Jones is in the story more, Good to have Elizabeth back in character and her heartfelt chat with Peter in No Good Deed , always happy to see June and love her interaction with the guys and her heart to heart talk with Neal about her and Byron. Love Mozzie, he is the most consistent and faithful best friend ever. Also enjoyed the Seigel episodes,Neal’s new handler even though brief and baby Theo Diana’s new baby.

White Collar is the most fun on TV and this season is toooooo short. I have loved the mischievous Neal this year, but don’t want him to hurt or disappoint Peter after Peter has risked so much to help him. Can’t wait til Thursday,
