Winter premieres: NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5, ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ ‘Elementary’ return
So what is coming up for you on TV tonight? It’s likely been a long time since you’ve had an opportunity to sit down and watch some good stuff, and we understand is you are starting to feel the withdrawals.
Luckily, the wait is finally over! Thursday night not only marks the beginning of the winter season, but there is actually quite a bit of new stuff on the air worth checking out tonight … at least if you are watching any of the three major networks.
On NBC, the breaking news is that we are going to have the season 5 premiere of “Community.” This news is especially big once you remember that this also means that you are going to have the return of Dan Harmon to broadcast TV. He hasn’t been part of the show since the season 3 finale, but early buzz is that there is at least one or two fantastic episodes in the first batch coming out. (While it may not be news to the same sort of grand degree, it should also be noteworthy that “Sean Saves the World,” “The Michael J. Fox Show,” and “Parenthood” are all also back on the air.)
Meanwhile, ABC is bringing forth a slew of new premieres including “The Taste” season 2 (just in case you’re still hungry for food shows), as well as the series premiere of “The Assets,” an espionage drama that sounds quite a bit like the ABC version of “The Americans.”
Finally, CBS is going to be going with a lineup of all-new programming as well. “The Big Bang Theory,” “The Millers,” “The Crazy Ones,” “Two and a Half Men,” and “Elementary” are all new tonight. Just in case you want to stay out of the cold (which is certainly understandable), this is the perfect lineup for you.
What do you want to watch tonight? If you’re a “Community” fan, we are going to have a full review up after it airs.
