‘Bates Motel’ season 2: What is the reported premiere date?
If you have been around CarterMatt much over the past couple of weeks, then you are probably pretty familiar already with one thing: We’re rather big fans of “Bates Motel.” This is a show that has the horror / suspense element to it, but also some great characters and performances from the likes of Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga.
So when can you expect it to start airing some new episodes on TV? The rumor going around now (not confirmed as of yet) via TV Guide Magazine is that we are looking at a premiere date of Monday, March 3. When you think about it, that is a date that makes sense for so many reasons. It’s directly after the February sweeps are over, so A&E would miss most of the competition from that and could also potentially air against some repeats of other shows. Also, this is around when the show aired in the spring of 2013, and its ten episodes will have a chance to run their course without having to get too deep into May and competing with season finales for some other shows.
We named “Bates Motel” our third-favorite show of 2013, and if everything that is being hinted at right now for season 2 turns out to be true, we could end up being rather happy campers. There will be new foes for Norman Bates, a new love interest for Norma Bates, and a chance to see this family further start to descend into darkness. However, one of the beautiful things about this show has always been that there is a certain amount of ambiguity that goes along with the way that they scripted the finale last year; while it looked like Norman was a gruesome killer, that is not necessarily the case. We’ll just have to see when the action picks up again.
