We are only four contestants away from profiling every contestant on “The Bachelor” this season, and there have certainly been plenty of them to cover. Today, we are focusing on someone in Renee Oteri who seems like they could be a contender as the season goes on … maybe. The problem with her is that in terms of her biography, she is not really doing a whole lot to differentiate herself from the pack.
However, we have figured out a little bit more on our own that makes her seem like a much more interesting addition to the show. While she is listed as being from Martha’s Vineyard, she actually lives in Florida. Not only that, but she and Juan Pablo Galavis are the same age, and she also has a child.
Possible pros – The biggest one for us here is that Renee and Juan Pablo just have so much in common. They’ve both went through quite a bit in their lives, know what it means to be parents, and also work hard to provide for those they love. The geographic distance also would make getting together easier than most other single parents who appear on the show, who have so many different things to think about when trying to figure out whether or not they can move with their child somewhere new.
Possible cons – There is always the possibility that Juan Pablo may not be looking for someone in the same position as him; in a way, his selection could depend on how seriously he is taking this competition as a means of finding love. Picking someone in Renee shows that he is really willing to take a chance and a commitment, since the last thing thing that he will want to do is pick someone, and then mess things up to where it hurts both them and a child.
Pre-show outlook – Emily Maynard is the exception rather than the rule on the show. Traditionally, what happens is that around the middle of the season, the single parents get sent home because the Bachelor or Bachelorette doesn’t want to lead them on. If Renee makes it to the final four, you have to think at that point that she will be a serious threat to end up winning the competition.
