ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: How Nathan Fillion, James Brolin spend time together again

While you may know by now that James Brolin has a return appearance coming up on “Castle” come Monday, January 13, you may not have had too much of an idea about just what sort of story he was going to be involved with as Jackson Hunt. Well, we at least know a little bit more about just how he is connected to a case that Nathan Fillion’s character and company are investigating.

Remember when we told you that this episode (entitled “Deep Cover”) was going to feature the murder of a video store clerk, and speculated that he was likely something much more than that? Well, the official synopsis from ABC helps to make these facts all the clearer right now:

“The murder of a young video store clerk takes a strange turn when the team discovers his past history as a high-level hacker. But it’s nothing compared to the shock Castle receives when their investigation leads them straight to his father, Jackson Hunt.”

For the early part of this episode, Brolin will actually spend more of his time working with Stana Katic, and it is not until later that Castle is able to tell Beckett the truth about who this man really is. That should make for a great shock, especially as we start to see more and more of this man’s dark side revealed. Let’s just say that he is not the same guy exactly that we saw in his first appearance last year; while he may love Rick and his family to an extent, there are many reasons (some of them selfish) behind him staying away for as long as he has. This will be fun to explore, and likely very enjoyable for Fillion, Katic, and the cast to play.
