‘The X Factor’ UK: Bosses reportedly considering Cheryl Cole – Dannii Minogue return

Who saw this coming? In reality, we imagine that the answer to this question is probably “everybody.” It is not even remotely a secret that the most-successful “X Factor” UK judging panel ever is the one that had Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue, Simon Cowell, and Louis Walsh on it, and it only makes sense that someone out there would do everything in their power to ensure that there was a way in which we could see it again.

We predicted recently that this would be something considered by show bosses, and now a source close to them reportedly had the following to say specifically about a Dannii return to the Mirror:

“Dannii is still very popular in the UK and many people at ITV feel the return of Sharon Osbourne this year was positive and would like to do the same with Dannii. The show was most successful a number of years ago so they need some of that success and spark, perhaps mixed with one or two new faces from the music industry today … Dannii and Simon together could be very intriguing and exciting on screen, there is a lot of history there.”

It’s more likely to us that Dannii would return that Cheryl, mostly because her history with the franchise is complicated at this point. We also know that the door is at least open for her to come back, and it could come down to interest on both sides and money in the end.

But would the British public really embrace a full reunion? We’re somewhat torn over it. While it sounds great in theory, Simon has become a bit of a caricature on TV in recent years, and sometimes, you cannot fully go home and expect things to be the same as they were the last time the gang was together.
