ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: James Brolin’s return, more teased in new video

While “Castle” season 6 may not be back until Monday, January 6, the latest promo for the show released by ABC teases that there are going to be some pretty crazy developments when the show does come back.

In case you missed our report from a little bit earlier this month, the 11th episode of the season, which was originally going to be one all about a Miley Cyrus-inspired case that also raised questions about Beckett being able to handle being in the spotlight, has been delayed. It will now air a little later than originally planned. Meanwhile, the episode that is now billed as 6×11 is one geared around an arsonist, and how it could end up putting a few of our favorite characters in danger.

There is also a brief sighting in this video of James Brolin’s return as Jackson Hunt, who is going to be a much more jaded and darker character than we perhaps first saw. Rather than being a man forced to live out this life of killing and doing terrible things, we’re going to get more of an idea now that he is actually someone who seems to really enjoy what he does and doesn’t want to stop doing it. That’s going to give both Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic opportunities to do some great stuff, as Beckett is going to meet Jackson for the first time during the episode.

Overall, the promo (while low-quality) still does give you a good impression that there are some great stories coming up in 2014 that will make it clear that even though Castle and Beckett may now be engaged, there is still quite a bit for the two of them to work through when it comes to dramatic situations. Their relationship is not all sunshine and rainbows just yet.
