‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 Christmas special: Has Michelle Dockery’s Mary made a decision?

The “Downton Abbey” season 4 Christmas special is now just a few days away, which to us primarily means one thing: An opportunity to talk even more about some of the bigger issues at play!

One of them, at least to us, has to be what the status of a certain Lady Mary is going to be. The last time that we saw the character on the series, she was facing a very difficult decision courtesy of being torn between two very capable suitors: Lord Anthony Gillingham and Charles Blake. Both of them clearly had their respective positive attributes, but there was also one other thing keeping the two from seemingly winning the heart of Michelle Dockery’s character: She was not ready to make a decision between the two of them.

Has that changed at all since the last time that we saw her? All we can say is that, per the Radio Times, the special picks up with Mary still undecided about what she wants to do in regards to the two of them. Both Blake and Gillingham are still going to be around, hoping that there is going to be a moment where Mary will change her mind. Eventually, we imagine that it is going to happen, mostly because we’d be dealing with a pretty pathetic scenario if the story for the holiday event was just watching Mary turning these guys down again.
