‘House of Lies’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum Fred Armisen books role
Now that Fred Armisen is through with “Saturday Night Live,” he seems to be finding another career for himself courtesy of making assorted guest-starring appearances on other various shows. The latest one? Think Showtime’s “House of Lies,” which is returning in the new year with more stories. (Specifically, the poster to the left shows the premiere date as Sunday, January 12 following “Shameless.”)
As for who Armisen is going to play on the show, an official press release details that the actor / sketch guru is going to play Vincent, a neurotic owner of a company known for making a meal-replacement product. Armisen is very good at playing these sorts of strange, quirky guys, so there is really no reason here for us to believe that he will have any trouble with this role.
Fred is coming off of a recent cameo to “SNL” alongside Kristen Wiig, and he will also return to “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” for his second appearance of the season during the Super Bowl episode, playing the bizarre guy in the apartment that steals the photo that Jake and Amy show to him.
In addition to Armisen, Balthazar Getty of “Brothers & Sisters” is also going to be making an appearance on “House of Lies” as a wealthy hedge fund owner who knows Marissa, the character played this season by former “Happy Endings” star Eliza Coupe. These two are joining a list of notable guest stars for the season that already includes some pretty well-known names, including the likes of T.I. and another former “Saturday Night Live” cast member in Jenny Slate (though her run on the show was much shorter than Armisen’s).
