We’ve said this a few times already, but if there is one major critique that we would offer for “The Blacklist’s” first season so far, it is that we have basically Liz Keen, Reddington, Tom, and then a bunch of random people that she works with that we barely know.
But what about Ressler? Following a near-death situation during the Anslo Garrick crisis at the end of the fall season, we are going to seeing a good bit more of his story. We’ve already told you that Diego Klattenhoff will have an opportunity to show off different dimensions of this character, and E! News is also now reporting that while he is going to be returning to do his work and will continue to do his job, he now will have a little bit more of a look that separates him from the average agent. For one, he’ll be using a cane; but, he’s still going to find a way to engage in all of the same sort of action and work that he once did.
When “The Blacklist” returns to NBC on January 13, it will be doing so with Reddington more on a warpath than ever following everything that transpired with him in the Garrick saga. He’s also now seemingly on the run again rather than working directly with the agents to help take down other people. His parting words to “Lizzie” for the time being? That he is seemingly not her father. He could always be lying, so you have to keep that possibility in mind.
